Classical and Acoustic Guitars

A hand-built guitar should please the ear, the eye and the hands for many years. That is why all my instruments are built exclusively from acoustic woods in master grade quality.
The Front
The front of the guitar is made of German Alpine spruce: well-aged, quarter-cut and with a close-fitting regular grain pattern. I put a lot of work into designing and machining the bracing behind the front, as it is crucial to the guitar's final tone, volume, balance, sustain, response and clarity.
Back and sides
are built from CITES certified Brazilian rosewood. There are many other options, but Brazilian rosewood is an excellent acoustic wood – and exceptionally beautiful. With guitars where Brazilian rosewood is used, a CITES certificate follows.
Neck, fingerboard and tuning machines
For the neck, mahogany with inlaid black ebony or rosewood is used to give strength and stiffness. The fingerboard is in black ebony and the guitar's tuning machines are handmade by Italian Nicolo Alessi.
Varnish
All classical and acoustic guitars are varnished with shellac. It is the acoustically best varnish, which also has a very beautiful glow.
